The core business of our Timber Haulage Division provides haulage of roundwood timber from forest districts in the South West of Scotland and North of England to mills and processing plants north and south of the border.

With timber vehicles based at Lockerbie and our new depot in Castle Douglas, we are well situated to provide reliable and efficient haulage services to our customers. The timber fleet comprises 30 crane mounted vehicles, all fitted with CTI to offer low ground pressure haulage solutions to our customers. This reduces the impact on moving large volumes of timber over fragile forest networks and through communities local to the forest blocks. The timber fleet are fitted with a modern vehicle tracking system that allows greater supervision of lone working; load security for customers; and the monitoring of driving to reduce environmental impact. Further resources provided by our dedicated sub-contractors enable us to maximise the flexibility we offer to customers. Our general haulage fleet move round timber to processers further throughout the UK with flatbed trailers and pins. Furthermore, our experienced timber transport planners provide an excellent contact for customers and ensure customer needs are met.

As a responsible timber haulier, we insist that our operators are trained to a high standard in health and safety, fuel efficiency, environmental impact and crane competency with ongoing in house training and assessment integral to this. We are committed to improving timber haulage standards and are active locally in both the Timber Transport Group and the national FISA steering group.
